Sorry it’s been a while since I last posted, it’s totally my fault, I’ve been working on a new SEO strategy and it’s been taking up quite a bit of my time. Having said that, it could well be good news for you, because I’ve been learning some very clever “new tricks” and you never know, I might just release a product about it…but that’s for another day, another time.
New Media and Online Marketing
Today, I just had to get this video out to you – this is Seth Godin, the Daddy of new media and online marketing talking about marketing perceptions. This Guy is a genius as far as online marketing is concerned. If you haven’t read any of his books I suggest you get hold of some and just see how creative this Guy is when it comes to marketing.
The Long Tail
For example, in Meatball Sundae, he explains the concepts of “the long tail” which is now so accepted in marketing today (and incidentally is why we no longer have a Virgin Records and why HMV are having to re-invent themsleves). His book Permission Marketing is widely held to be the basis of how all Internet Marketers work today – if you haven’t read it, I suggest you get hold of a copy.
Anyway, this video was filmed at a conference called TED in 2003, but….the messages are still relevant today. I have been looking for this video to share with you for a while now and made a pact with myself that I had to find it and get it out to you – today! So, here it is. Enjoy!
